There is no art either good or bad, but thinking makes it so

Dad still gets the attention of the local paparazzi. He does his best to ignore it but when they come on the property, it's a bit harder.

Mason is growing like a little weed. A very unstable little weed,  he's still finding the whole walking thing a bit much.

-------

First thing in the morning and my baby bro is ready for action.

Dad and Shannon were up till late, talking about something, they weren't stirring in their bedroom yet. I decided to get Mason out of the crib.

It was past time for his bottle. The poor little mite was very hungry.

Once he was done with the bottle, it was a quick dive into the toy box to grab his favorite toy. He loves Mr Bunny.

I went over to Founder's Park after grabbing a bite for myself. I found most of Clayton's family there.

Clayton was at a table playing computer games, but I didn't feel like talking to him. I was still miffed that he'd ditch me for work then blame me that we didn't have a good date. Honestly, boys.

So I decided to talk to Clayton's older brother Derrick.

"Hey, Derrick, what's happenin'?"

"Not much. You?"

"Just chillin'. You still seeing my cousin Lizzie?"

"Umm, well, yes. Sort of."

"Sort of?"

"Well, there's this other girl. I really like both of them."

Grr, boys, who needs them? I decided it was time to go home.

Dad and Shannon were doing some morning chores so I sat to play with Mason for a little.

"No sweetie. The square peg goes there. It doesn't fit the round hole."

A little while later, Dad finished having a crew set up a block of stone for his next sculpture.

Now was going to be as good a time as any to talk to him. Before he gets so engrossed that nothing will break his concentration.

"Dad, can we talk?"

"What about Kitten?"

"Well, that boarding school. I've made up my mind."

"So, what's the verdict?"

"Well, if you are sure we can afford it, I think boarding school would be a great way to get out of this place."

"Kitten? You sound upset. "

I told Daddy about Clayton, about Mom, well, about everything. It all just spilled out, a cascade of words and finally tears.

"Kitten, running away isn't a real answer. Life hurts, sometimes." He sighed. "I did love your mother you know."

"Dad, I promise, it's not just running away. The school sounds great, way more interesting then the public school here. I think I'd enjoy it." Dad gave me a look. "Ok, it is a bit of running away too, but please Dad?"

"I doubt this will change your mind, but Clayton is just taking after his father. Thomas never could resist trying his luck with a new girl but his wife Zayne has never said a bad word about him. He always comes home, Zayne is the only real love in his life." He looked at me attentively. "There's no turning back once you're enrolled. Are you positive?"

"Yes Dad."

Dad went into the house for 15 minutes. He gave me the thumbs up when he came back out. "All set. They send a taxi for you tomorrow at 9."

I spent some of the day sorting my clothes. Some of the stuff, I wouldn't be caught dead in.

Most of the day was spent doing the usual things. Dad had a major fit when the sink broke, again.

Dad and I had a jamming session in the evening. Music is supposed to be one of the schools best subjects, I think that's going to be so cool.

Dad put Mason in his crib. Mason's favourite bedtime story is "Goldilocks and the three bunnies". Dad is an impressive reader, he does all the voices.

Shannon cooked ratatouille for me. Dad must have told her it's my favourite dish in the whole world.

One thing, Dad and Mason won't be starving while I'm gone. Not with Shannon here.

I have a feeling I know what Dad and Shannon was discussing the other night. Shannon's been hinting that another baby would make her very happy. It won't be long until Mason goes to school.

She might just have persuaded Dad that he wanted a bigger family.

Monday morning, my last few hours at home. I played with Mason for awhile.

Dad came out to see me off.

"Now Kitten, we aren't made of money, but if there is something you really need, let us know. I'll see what I can do."

"Thanks Dad."

"And you write home. Or call home. Or both."

"Yes Dad."

"I bought you a little present."

"Oh Daddy!"

"Thanks so much Dad. I'll call and I'll be home before you know what happened."

Then the taxi pulled up and I was on my way. A new school, a new adventure.

I miss my family already.

Bonus pics

Camera peek-a-boo trying to get a snap of Johnny reading to Mason.

Leonardo as a teen. I must say Brooke and Hans kids were all winners.

Poor Johnny. He spent a lot of money on that rock to sculpt. The little gem stone he got here when it broke doesn't even slightly cope for the value.

  2. I hate it when those sculpting blocks collapse. So, so frustrating.

Leonardo does look good as a teen.

The paparazzi really does anger me sometimes. They always catch my sims doing the dumbest of things.

Aww, farewell to Catherine! I'm sure she'll have lots of fun at her new boarding school, and time to cool down. :)

  3. I mistakenly named her... sorry, been getting dizzy lately with stuffs back home. :D
I hope she will have a great time at boarding school.

  4. So the question is still up. Can we follow Catherine to her boarding school?

  5. Let us know how boarding school works for sims. Is there any interaction? Phone calls? Any special pop up notices?

Catherine has had a rough time. Hopefully, boarding school will let her make a fresh start. She knows how much her father loves her which has got to make the transition easier for her. Good for Shannon to cook her daughter a going away meal.

    Baby!! Woot!

Mason is adorable. I might be biased, though. Leonardo turned out quite well. Do you recall his traits?

  6. Good morning MJ,

The answer to the question is no, we can't really follow the child/teen to boarding school. I wasn't sure what the heck would happen but now Catherine's icon in the family is grey.

Yes, this poor family doesn't get many updates but at least they do get out to play every once in awhile. :)

    Thanks for stopping by. :)

  7. Cheezy!

Yes, he worked that block for hours and then got a stupid and not very valuable gem as a result. Poor Johnny.

Leonardo is a fine looking boy. I'm pleased.

Catherine certainly will have time to cool down. I hope she officially gets to make some new friends since she's left behind her current ones.

  8. Hey Chrysame! I will let you guys find out what I learn as we go. So far, the first is they stay in the family icon panel but grey and you can't select them.

She was sent off with a lot of love. Johnny was sure to let her know that.

Mason is a cutie - he is 100% Grant boy though. We'll have to see if baby 2 has a bit more Shannon influence. :) I don't recall anyone's traits right now but I've decided to do a family bio page so I'll have to look them up and put them in. :)

    Thanks for comments.

  9. Those paparazzi suck.
I tried so many times to get a pic of the toddler off balance like that. It's so cute.

Well, going to boarding school is one way to get out of a bad situation.

    Great update Pib.

While I'm here I'lllet you know I put your Dayna in my current game. I was searching around for a new sim the other day and found her. She is residing with 7 other sims right now. :)

  10. I was very lucky with the toddler toddling around like that. Mason is adorable.

Johnny wanted to send Catherine to boarding school for art. That she found a few things ticking her off enough to make her *really* want to leave was a bonus - story wise.

Dayna - that's interesting. Someone else told me that they had downloaded Dayna recently. I haven't seen much of her recently - I do know that she has a son called Mason (SP named him) and Mason is romantically attached to Troy Grant Hill (both teens).

  11. I'm a bit slow as this it my first time reading this blog and I started here.... But it was great and is this the first time sending your kid to boarding school? I've yet to do mine.

  12. Mason is seriously adorable! I've always liked the animal PJs, and the rest of the animal set suits him so cutely.

Aw, Derrick, that's not nice- but at least he's honest?

You and your hot tub hijinks, Pibsy! ;)

Boarding school- should be fun! Hope she doesn't get homesick.

  13. Hi Rae, this was my first time to send a child to boarding school. Hope to see you back sometime!

  14. Amelia, you hit the nail on the head about Mason. He is adorable, no one can resist him.

Derrick and Clayton both have naughty reputations now that Generations has arrived - because they both have two romantic interests. Then again, their dad spent quite some time as the town Gigolo so they come by it naturally. Thomas is actually down to only one lover other than his wife - no other than Cat's mom Alaina.

Hot tubs == fun and in this case == babies (don't tell Chrysame, she'll get excited. :) )

We'll see how she feels about boarding school when she writes home.

  15. :( Clayton! Well, he's going to regret soon after Cat arrived home.

Being not able to go the boarding school is not fun. I miss TS 2 University... but, I'm looking forward to reading how she feels about boarding school after going back home... and whether the family could write or phone her.

  16. Hey MJ,

At the rate those Lemans go through girls, I doubt Clayton will miss her too much. But we'll see.

I kind of miss University but trying to get that to work in Sims 3 is probably too challenging.

She'll be writing home, I'm sure of that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. :) I knew you'd be excited.

So what should Johnny and Shannon name the new bundle of joy - when we finally get around to having it?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Kerr if it's a boy. That's one of the most common US mason jar brands. Or Dixon for Mason-Dixon line. Or Brick!

For a girl? Lyric? Brit? Erica?

BTW, in one of my games Geoffrey Landgraab and Nancy broke up due to Pauline Wan. Nancy hooked up with Phillip Grant and they had a baby boy. I never thought of that combo!

  19. Good for Kathy, doing what will make her the most happy. I'm glad she's not doing it to run away, though--life's tough with boys and crazy mothers, but it's no excuse to avoid it.

Still, it'll be a great time for her to grow up and find her independence, and I'm sure getting away from all that baby-making will be nice. Wouldn't be too surprised if she came home to a new bundle of joy, though. Haha. ;D Mason, your title of Family Cuteness will likely be stolen, soon!

Leonardo definitely is a looker, I have to agree! :3

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Chrysame, I'm still stunned by the idea of Phillip and Nancy. I would never have thought of that.

@kaleeko There probably is a small element of running away but only a small one. Going to an artistic school may give her a chance to meet a more compatible soul.

I think that she will be coming home to another 1/2 sibling. And Mason will be in school by then. He is the family cutie though, you are right about that.

Brooke + Hans == a really great looking family. They all turned out well, Leonardo just helped prove it. :)
